Bolinder-Munktell Motor Grader – the VHK55 to VHK115 range from Eskilstuna: six-cylinder D67 diesel, around 6.7 litres displacement, unladen weights from 11.25 to 13.65 tonnes
Bolinder-Munktell was formed in 1932 from the merger of the machine works J. & C. G. Bolinder and Munktells in Eskilstuna and built diesel engines and construction machinery alongside tractors; in 1950 Volvo took over the plant, which traded as Volvo BM and built Swedish construction machinery into the 1990s. This page gathers the brand's motor graders, the types VHK55, VHK85, VHK100 and VHK115. They were powered by the in-house six-cylinder D67 or D67A diesel of just over 6.7 litres.

The register lists here 4 versions with displacements from 6,720.3 to 6,730.2 cm³, unladen weights from 11,250 to 13,650 kg and lengths from 7,522.5 to 7,751.1 mm.
Graders of this class served road building and maintenance on gravel and rural roads, levelling construction sites and winter road maintenance in the Nordic countries, where frost and snow clearance place heavy demands on drivetrain and blade. Volvo BM was, alongside Åkerman, one of the leading construction-machinery brands of Scandinavia before the grader programme was fully absorbed into Volvo Construction Equipment, and the Eskilstuna graders became sought-after pieces of Swedish construction-machinery history.
On these grader classics, the condition of the circle and blade-adjustment mechanism, the tightness of the hydraulic cylinders for blade and steering, cracks in frame and axle suspension, and the general condition of the engine, radiator and injection pump of the D67 diesel all count.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
