Manufacturing countries recorded are Spain for the largest share, Italy for a further share and China for the rest; testing followed chiefly the 2012 GEMS determinations, alongside AS/NZS 1359.5:2004 and the 2019 determinations. When buying used, what matters is bearing condition and a checked insulation resistance of the winding, visible overheating marks on the terminal box and fan cover, the condition of shaft and key, and a legible nameplate with frame size, pole count and efficiency class; since only two motors reach an efficiency class at all, for continuous duty it is worth comparing against current IE2/IE3 alternatives. Spares depend on which licensee manufactured the particular motor.
