Yanmar combines of this size are built mainly for smaller and medium paddy fields and arable plots in Japan and South-East Asia, where narrow field shapes and wet ground pose different demands than large European combines face. The main competitors in this segment are Kubota and Iseki. The compact build also allows transport on ordinary trailers, without the oversize permits that larger combines often require.

On a used example, the condition of the threshing drum and straw walkers, the sieve box and grain elevator, the tightness of the hydraulics for the header and travel drive, and rust on the cab on older models without an enclosed body all matter; spare parts run through the Yanmar dealer network.
