The register lists 31 versions with displacements from 1,781 to 2,491 cm³ from four- and five-cylinder engines. Unladen weights range from 1,520 to 2,105 kg, gross vehicle weights from 2,500 to 2,810 kg and widths from 1,760 to 1,870 mm.

The T3 with its BESTEL bodies served chiefly small trade businesses in the Netherlands and neighbouring markets as a delivery van, competing there directly with the Mercedes-Benz T1 and the Ford Transit.

When buying used, on both the air-cooled and water-cooled T3 engines what counts is the condition of clutch and gearbox, corrosion on wheel arches, sliding-door tracks and the floor – classic weak points of the range – the tightness of the fuel system on diesel variants, and brakes and axle suspension.
