The G-Screen is designed for carrier machines from 18.5 to 25 t operating weight, placing it in the class of excavators for medium-heavy earthwork. As is typical for attachments, the operating weight of the carrier excavator determines the right size, not a power rating of the bucket itself.
Screening buckets separate coarser material such as stones and roots from finer soil, which falls through the screening bars, in a single digging pass, replacing a separate screening step in earthworks, landscaping or the processing of recycled material. The screening motion is driven through the carrier excavator's hydraulic circuit. This means a single excavator pass replaces separate stockpiling or transport of material to an external screening plant.
When buying a used screening bucket, check the condition of the screening bars, which can wear or bend from constant contact with stones and debris, as well as the sealing of the hydraulic connections and the screening drive. Compatibility of the quick coupler with the 18.5 to 25 t carrier machine should also be checked before buying.
