Mobile cranes of this class handle lifting work on building sites, the erection of steel and precast concrete elements and general industrial plant construction; Sany competes directly with established Western and Japanese crane makers here, building its position on a broad model range and a growing service network beyond China.

The permitted load is not a single rated figure but comes from a load chart for each boom length and radius — the further the boom reaches, the lower the load. Before lifting, the outriggers are extended onto supporting mats so ground pressure is spread out. The boom is a hydraulically extending telescopic mast, and a bolt-on counterweight at the rear increases the counteracting moment and thus the load. Chassis and axle count decide whether a crane travels public roads within axle-load limits (all-terrain) or is a pure rough-terrain crane on large tyres, moved only around the job site.

On used examples, the condition of the boom and hoist rope, the function of the outriggers and their hydraulics, the condition of the slewing ring, engine and chassis hours and the function of the load-moment and safety monitoring systems all matter; spare parts and service run through the Sany dealer network.
