Trucks and vans from the Zittau works supplied trades, agriculture and municipalities in central Germany with rugged, easily maintained commercial technology at a time when imported vehicles were scarcely available.
Built in an era before any emissions standard, the four-cylinder engine in these vehicles knew nothing of emissions rules in today's sense; the mechanically operated brakes, in turn, needed regular readjustment of the linkage, a step that later hydraulic systems no longer require.
