Multicar has built nimble light trucks for municipal, construction and works-yard use in Waltershausen (Thuringia) since the 1920s; the abbreviation Ausf. stands for version and denotes the particular body or drivetrain variant of the range. During the GDR era, VEB Multicar belonged to the IFA combine, before the company was privatised after 1990.
