Hyundai Terracan – the SUV as a van registration in the light-commercial register, 2001 to 2007 with 2.5 TCI and 2.9 CRDi diesels, 115 to 120 kW
The Hyundai Terracan was built from 2001 to 2007 and replaced the Mitsubishi Pajero-based Galloper as Hyundai's own body-on-frame off-road SUV. Powered by the brand's own 2.5 TCI and 2.9 CRDi diesel engines, some with automatic transmission, the Terracan was also available as a high-roof van ('HR Van', 'Highroof Van') with the rear interior removed, as shown by the designations on this collective page; such conversions were carried in the van register as light commercial vehicles, benefiting from that class's lower taxation.

The Terracan positioned Hyundai in the classic body-on-frame SUV segment alongside the Mitsubishi Pajero, Nissan Terrano and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, and was valued for its payload and off-road ability also by trades businesses that made use of the van registration as a commercial vehicle.
On used examples, the condition of the injection and turbocharger of the CRDi diesels counts, along with the timing belt, the function of the four-wheel-drive system and low-range gearing, corrosion on the ladder frame, and on the van conversions the execution of the bulkhead and load area; parts are available through the Hyundai network, though not always comprehensively for this now-older model.
