Lengths are recorded for only 104 of the models and range from 3,190 to 9,980 mm, showing the span from compact trailers to long car transporters.

The car-trailer market in Germany is shaped by a handful of large branded makers, among them Humbaur, Brenderup and Saris alongside Böckmann; class O2 covers all trailers that can still be towed on an ordinary licence without a further test. Böckmann positions itself with galvanised frames and a dense dealer network in the mid to upper price segment.

When buying used, what counts is the condition of the galvanising on frame and drawbar, the tow hitch and overrun brake (where fitted), axles, wheel bearings and tyres, the tightness of floor and tarpaulin, and a valid periodic trailer inspection; spare parts for axles and lighting are available through the Böckmann dealer network.
