Zetor C35

Series: Other models

The Zetor C35 is a tractor made by Zetor. Engine output is 26 kW.

Propulsion comes from MFWD.

It runs on diesel; the engine is water-cooled. The predecessor was the Century 3035. Within the range, rated power spans from 11 to 123 kW; with 26 kW, the C35 sits in the lower third. Directly alongside are the 3045 with 24.2 kW below and the UTILIX 55 with 29.9 kW above.

Zetor — where the name comes from and how the ranges connect

The brand name is a compound: the "Z" of the Brno arms factory Zbrojovka and the ending "-tor". It was there, in March 1946, that the first three Z 25 tractors left the line — an eightieth anniversary in 2026.

Order among the many Zetor types came in the 1960s with the unified UR I and UR II ranges. They brought more modern engineering and, above all, shared central components — the reason parts can be swapped across model boundaries. In the late 1960s the UR II joined the programme, designed for stronger machines and more demanding work.

Those lines still run today. The UR II range was revised and reached the market in 1998 as the Zetor Forterra. Around the turn of the millennium came the Proxima and Forterra ranges together with the modernised Major and Crystal — the generation carrying the brand through its recent history.

Anyone assessing an older model should therefore identify the base range first. A tractor from the UR II family is technically related to the Forterra, even with decades between them. That kinship decides how readily parts can be found — with a brand spanning eighty years of models, that is the most practical question of all.

The Zetor C35 delivers 35 hp.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
