Willys-Overland of Toledo, Ohio, developed the Willys MB during the Second World War, which together with the near-identical Ford GPW became the origin of the Jeep; after the war the company built the civilian CJ off-road line and, on the same technical basis, light commercial vehicles such as the Jeep Truck and plain pickup and truck variants. The type 451F listed here and the designations Jeep Truck, Pickup and Truck represent these early commercial versions of the brand, from which Kaiser-Jeep, American Motors and, eventually, today's Jeep brand emerged.
