Volvo XC70

The register lists here 7 versions with 120 kW from five-cylinders of 2,400 to 2,401 cm³, unladen weights from 1,763 to 1,846 kg, gross weights from 2,220 to 2,400 kg, lengths from 4,730 to 4,840 mm and widths from 1,860 to 1,890 mm.

The XC70 was designed as a passenger car, but because of its payload and estate body it was in some countries also registered as a light N1 commercial vehicle, for instance once the rear seat bench was removed and a continuous load floor created – a practice common in the Netherlands, which was more favourable for tax than regular passenger-car registration. Technically the XC70 remains a full-fledged four-wheel-drive estate combining car-like comfort with off-road ability.

On a used example of such an estate lightly re-registered as a commercial vehicle, the condition of the D5 turbodiesel and its charge-air ducting, the condition of the four-wheel-drive system and rear differential, corrosion at the strut mounts and, where the load floor has been converted, the proper execution of the panelling and lashing points all matter. Spare parts run through the regular Volvo network.
