Valtra HiTech – the Finnish tractors from Suolahti with Sisu engines: N series 91 to 141, T series 131 to 191, HiTech as transmission level, EcoPower and the number as hp, 75 to 147 kW
Valtra is Finland's tractor brand: descended from Valmet, the state engineering group that has built tractors in Suolahti since 1951, part of AGCO since 2004. The brand's hallmarks are the engines from the sister plant in Linnavuori – the Sisu diesels, today AGCO Power, whose codes 44, 66 and 74 in the register give the displacement in decilitres (44 = 4.4 l four-cylinder, 66 = 6.6 l six-cylinder, 74 = 7.4 l) – and build-to-order production, in which every tractor in Suolahti is built to the customer's specification. At Valtra HiTech is not a series but the transmission level: the version with powershift and electronic control, below Versu and Direct (continuously variable), above the mechanical Classic. The number after the letter roughly gives the output in hp, N stands for the four-cylinder series, T for the six-cylinders; e marks the EcoPower engines with lowered rated speed, ECO and POWER the two maps of those models, 8950 the forerunner of the 1990s.
