Techtop TAI – three-phase motor range from the Chinese manufacturer, frame sizes 80 to 200, 0.75 to 37 kW, 2- to 8-pole, IP55
This page gathers the TAI range motors from Techtop as listed in the Australian energy-efficiency register. Techtop is a Chinese supplier of three-phase motors; the type designations, such as TAI 100L-2 or TAI 132M2-4, follow the scheme TAI <frame size><length>-<pole count>. Compared with the TCI range also listed in the register, TAI covers a smaller output and frame-size band.

The register lists here 56 versions with 0.75 to 37 kW, two- to eight-pole, full-load efficiencies from 72.3 to 92.9% and at 75% load from 73.3 to 93.2%. Frame sizes run from 80 to 200, all motors are recorded with IP55 protection. China is recorded throughout as the manufacturing country. Testing followed the 2019 GEMS determination throughout, with test method A; of 56 motors, 11 carry a documented High Efficiency Level (2005, roughly IE2), the remaining 45 stay unclassified.
Limited to frame sizes up to 200 and outputs up to 37 kW, TAI covers the smaller to mid segment of classic IEC standard motors, used mainly in pumps, fans and general drive tasks.
When buying used, what matters is bearing condition and a checked insulation resistance of the winding, visible corrosion on the terminal box and fan cover, the condition of shaft and key, and a legible nameplate with frame size, pole count and, where present, the efficiency class; only just under one in five motors here carries a High Efficiency classification. Spares run through Techtop's distribution.

Frequently asked questions
How much power does the Techtop TAI 90S-2 have?
The Techtop TAI 90S-2 delivers 1.5 kW.
What to check before buying
- Match the data plate against the order: frame size, mounting and rating have to agree.
- Check the ingress rating against the installation site — outdoors or in dust the demands differ.
- Hold the mounting form and dimensions against the existing seat before ordering.
- The pole count sets the speed — when replacing an older unit, compare this first.
- For used units, ask about winding condition and bearing play.
- Ask about parts availability for this series — the running costs hang on it.
