Solis is the international export brand of International Tractors Limited (ITL), a company of the Sonalika Group based in Hoshiarpur in the Indian state of Punjab; ITL has built tractors since the 1990s and has sold them worldwide under the Solis name since the 2010s, in Europe partly from its own plants. The model designation directly states the approximate power class in hp – Solis 16 is about 16 to 20 hp, Solis 50 about 50 hp, Solis 90 about 90 hp – 4WD marks four-wheel drive, HST the hydrostatic transmission, Stage V the emission stage for the European market. The engines come from ITL/Sonalika itself and, on some of the small types, from Mitsubishi.

On used tractors, engine condition and clutch or hydrostat condition count, the condition of lift and hydraulics, the electrics, and on the younger Stage V models the exhaust aftertreatment; parts run through the still-developing European Solis dealer network, which can be limited on the older types.
