Scania of Södertälje has offered the 6x2 axle formula for decades for three-axle chassis with one driven axle; depending on the version the third axle is an unsteered tag axle, a steered pusher axle, or – as in the TWEESTEER variant listed here – an additional steered twin-steer front axle. Equipment codes such as LUFT for air suspension and EBS for the electronic braking system appear in the model names without denoting separate ranges. Scania traces back to the Vagnfabriks-Aktiebolaget founded in Malmö in 1891, which merged in 1911 with Vabis's Södertälje plant to form today's company.
