Onbekend is Dutch for “unknown” and not a manufacturer: the entry that the registration authority RDW keeps in the manufacturer field when no manufacturer could be established at the registration of a trailer – because the type plate is missing, because the vehicle comes from military stocks, from abroad or from an estate, or because it was built decades ago without papers.
