OM (Officine Meccaniche) was an Italian vehicle maker founded in Brescia in 1899, which belonged to Fiat from 1938 and was absorbed into the newly founded Iveco in 1975. OM, with the Leoncino from 1938, shaped light-truck building in Italy and remained an independent brand for light and medium commercial vehicles after the Fiat takeover, before the models were folded into the Iveco range; the brand thus stands at the root of today's Iveco programme and is still a familiar name in Italy for sturdy construction and municipal vehicles, especially in the Lombardy region.
