The SDP series belongs to Bernard Krone's semi-trailer programme, built by its commercial-vehicle division Krone Trailer in Werlte in the Emsland region; the group began in 1906 as an agricultural machinery maker and has built truck trailers and semi-trailers for decades. Within the SDP series, the digits after the code (20, 22, 24, 27 or 30) denote the body size, while suffixes such as ELB, ELG, ELP or ELNZ mark individual equipment variants. One version is expressly built for piggyback (Huckepack) transport of swap bodies.
