The Kalmar DCE90-6L is a diesel forklift with 9,000 kg lifting capacity from Kalmar, a maker of port and terminal equipment. It is fitted with a duplex mast and tailored to handling in works and on storage yards.

The duplex mast lifts to 4,550 mm and the load centre is 609.6 mm. That allows loads of 9,000 kg to be put onto trucks and set down in racks or blocks on the second and third tier. The unladen weight of 11,300 kg gives the truck stability, and the width of 2,000 mm is sufficient for aisles in halls and for loading ramps. The pneumatic tyres, two wheels at the front and two at the rear, are insensitive to unevenness on storage yards and gravel surfaces.

In the Kalmar range the DCE90-6L stands above the lighter models and below the models with two-digit tonnages. It is chosen where weight and stacking height are both required, for example with precast concrete, steel sections, paper reels and timber packs in the handling of ports and industrial plants.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
