The Iveco Daily is one of the longest-running van ranges in Europe, on the market since 1978 and bridging the gap between a classic van and a light truck: depending on the version, gross weight ranges from 3.5 to over 7 tonnes, and the chassis-cab version serves as the base for motorhomes, ambulances and minibuses. The Daily is built, among other places, at the Suzzara plant in Italy; across several generations (1978, the New Daily in 1999, 2006, 2014, and most recently a thorough overhaul in 2019) the naming scheme has stayed similar: the first number gives the weight class in tenths of a tonne (35 for 3.5 t, 40 for about 4.0/4.2 t, 50 for 5.0 t gross weight), C and S distinguish van and chassis-cab, and the following digit gives roughly the power class or wheelbase. The engines initially came from the Fiat-PSA joint venture Sofim, later from Iveco's own F1 diesel range of 2.3 and 3.0 litres.

On used examples, the condition of the timing belt or chain depending on engine generation, the particulate filter and EGR valve on later Euro 5/6 models, the rear leaf suspension under persistently high loads, rust on the frame and wheel arches, and on dual rear wheels the condition of the wheel bearings all count; parts run through the Iveco network.
