That means vehicles sold under the single 'Eurocargo' name span more than one type-approval class, so the first number in the type code is a more reliable reference point than the model name alone.

When buying used, it is worth checking the type designation against the gross vehicle weight stated on the registration document — the two should match, since a previous owner downrating the tonnage does not automatically change the code on the vehicle. The power suffix alone also says nothing about actual payload, which depends further on the body's kerb weight. Anyone looking specifically for a four- or six-cylinder engine should not rely on the type code but check the engine code and displacement on the registration document or on the engine itself.
