Hanomag of Hanover was a German maker with a long tradition, building vans, trucks and tractors valued by trades and small carriers for straightforward, easily serviced technology, whose commercial-vehicle division merged with Henschel in 1969 before passing to Daimler-Benz in 1971 and being absorbed into the light Mercedes-Benz vans of the following decade.
