Fordson Thames was the name under which Ford of Britain sold the commercial vehicles built at its Dagenham plant between 1939 and 1957; the name combined the Fordson line with the company's site on the Thames. After 1957 the range continued first as Thames, then as Ford Thames, before the ranges passed into the D-Series.

Fordson Thames trucks were among Britain's most common commercial vehicles in the 1940s and 1950s, competing with Bedford, Austin and Commer; coachbuilders fitted the chassis for delivery vans, box vans and buses, and the vehicles also reached Commonwealth export markets through the imperial trading network.
On these pre-war and post-war designs, the condition of the ladder frame and cab (rust is the main risk), the originality of the Ford side-valve or overhead-valve engine, the state of brakes and steering, and, on bodied vehicles, the preservation of the coachwork all count; spare parts are now only available through classic-vehicle specialists.
