Esve traces back to Schrör & Vriend, founded in 1920 in Winterswijk, and ranks among the first Dutch builders of trailers and semi-trailers; in the early 1960s the works moved to Lichtenvoorde, in 1992 it was taken over by the Eeftink Rensing group, and in recent years the company has traded as Esve Special Trailers. The model names of the AHWL range consist of the code AHWL and two numbers separated by a hyphen with the suffix L, such as AHWL 10L-10L or AHWL 8L-16L, in some cases with a further number as in AHWL 10L-10L-16.
