DAF was founded in 1928 in Eindhoven as Van Doorne's Aanhangwagen Fabriek, began building its own trucks in the 1950s, and has belonged to the American PACCAR group since 1996, whose sister brands are Kenworth and Peterbilt. The brand is marked by its own engines from Eindhoven and Westerlo, a modular cab-over cab concept and a consistent six-cylinder layout that also unites the ranges listed here.

The ranges gathered here cover a wide span of use, from the medium-duty distribution truck of the 2600 generation to the heavy articulated tractor of the current XF class, spanning long haul, construction site and special transport work.
On the older 2600 and 2800 ranges, frame and cab corrosion and the parts supply for engine and gearbox count, on the 95 and 95XF the condition of clutch, turbocharger and running gear, and on the CF and XF operating hours, the function of the exhaust aftertreatment and the cab mounting; parts run through the dense DAF and PACCAR network.
