The Chevrolet K5 Blazer, built from 1969, was General Motors' answer to early off-roaders such as the Ford Bronco and shared its ladder frame with the C/K pickup line. The K5 code denotes the four-wheel-drive version in GM's size classification; early generations carried a fully removable soft top or hardtop over the entire passenger cell. Silverado marked the upper trim line, Van a closed body variant without rear side glazing; internal GM codes such as CK10516 denote the body and drivetrain combination.
