According to the manufacturer, the D6N is deliberately tuned as a mix of pulling power for classic dozing and the balance needed for finish grading — a trade-off the heavier D6 variants resolve in favour of raw pushing power instead. Its elevated-sprocket design, which keeps the final drives and axles above the track, isolates the sensitive drive components.
The D6N accordingly sees use where fine grading work is needed alongside pure dozing, for example in road and site construction, while the heavier D6 classes work more in straight earthmoving and mine-site prep.
