This page gathers the David Brown tractors the register could not assign to a named range – the British marque from Meltham near Huddersfield that grew out of a gear works and, together with Harry Ferguson in 1936, developed the first series-built British tractor with hydraulics, before the two parted ways in 1939 and David Brown began building its own tractors. The Cropmaster of the early 1950s is regarded as one of the first tractors with a factory-fitted driver's cab; the 900 series brought the Implematic three-point hydraulics with draft control, marked by the Implematic suffix on the 850 and 880 types. The four-digit type logic of the 1960s and 1970s orders the range in the first digit, while the number after the slash (880/1910, 990/2000) states the gearbox or hydraulics variant and the year of revision; in 1965 the British Tube Investments group took the majority stake, and in 1972 David Brown finally sold the tractor division to the American J.I. Case, which continued the brand into the late 1980s.

David Brown was, into the 1970s, one of the major British tractor makers alongside Ford and Massey Ferguson, and shaped post-war British tractor building with the Implematic hydraulics and the Cropmaster's early factory cab.
On used examples, the condition of the gearbox and clutch, the tightness of the Implematic hydraulics, rust on mudguards and bonnet, the state of alternator and starter motor, and on the older models the availability of gaskets count; parts are carried by specialist dealers in classic British tractors and the Case IH network.
