Hymer was founded in 1957 by Erwin Hymer in Bad Waldsee in Upper Swabia and is one of the best-known German makers of motorhomes and touring caravans. As the founding brand of the Erwin Hymer Group, Hymer is now part of the French Trigano group. In the O2 vehicle class – trailers with a gross weight of 0.75 to 3.5 tonnes – Hymer's entries are its classic touring caravans, whose type names usually start with the letters EN, EL or C followed by a number for size and series, such as EN 495 or EL 530.
