With gross weights up to 1,800 kg, the aerial-platform trailers stay entirely within class O2 and can thus be towed on a standard trailer licence. Such trailer-mounted platforms are used in landscaping, tree care, facade work and event technology, where a movable platform without its own drive suffices.
Buying used, on aerial-platform trailers check especially the condition and tightness of the hydraulics, the function of the lifting and slewing mechanism, the condition of the work platform including railings, and the validity of the periodic inspection. Add to this the usual trailer points such as axle, overrun brake, tyres and lighting. Parts for the hydraulics and electrics are usually supplied by the manufacturer or specialist platform workshops.
