Dethleffs of Isny im Allgäu is one of the oldest German caravan makers and built one of the first German touring caravans back in 1931. The brand is now part of the Erwin Hymer Group and, through it, the French Trigano group. The O2 vehicle class covers trailers with a gross weight of 0.75 to 3.5 tonnes for registration purposes – this includes every touring caravan towed behind a car. Dethleffs type names usually combine a number for the body size with a letter code for the floor plan, such as 500 UL, 540 TK or 560 SK; no consistent system across all model years can be read from the register alone.
