DAF XG – the large long-haul cab of the New Generation range alongside XF and XG+, six-cylinder MX-11 and MX-13 engines of 10.8 to 12.9 litres, 315 to 390 kW, 430 to 530 hp
Since 2021 the XG has been the larger of DAF's two new long-haul cabs in the New Generation range, sitting between the base XF cab and the even roomier XG+, extended by 330 millimetres; all three cabs replaced the previous generation, which had been built for over 34 years. Model names such as XG 450 or XG 530 give the engine output in hp, XG+ denotes the version with the largest cab and the most space; the letter combinations that follow distinguish different chassis and body variants of the tractor units. The trucks are powered by DAF's own six-cylinder MX-11 of 10.8 litres and MX-13 of 12.9 litres, also used in the sister XF range.

The register lists here 32 versions with 315 to 390 kW, displacements from 10,800 to 12,900 cm³ and unladen weights from 7,491 to 9,721.5 kg, predominantly with diesel engines.
The XG targets classic long-haul work with high demands on driver comfort and was named International Truck of the Year in 2022; in this class it competes with the Mercedes-Benz Actros, Volvo FH and Scania S/R.
On these young vehicles, mileage and the service history of the MX engine, the condition of the clutch and automated transmission, the fault memory of the exhaust aftertreatment, and accident and service history through the DAF network count above all, since the trucks are still mostly first- or second-hand.
