This page gathers the Austin commercial vehicles the register could not assign to a named range – from early small-car derivatives to the vans of the British Leyland era. Austin, founded in 1905 by Herbert Austin in Longbridge, England, motorised large parts of Britain with the Austin Seven presented in 1922 and offered van and pick-up versions of it early on; after the Second World War came the small vans A30, A35 and A40 based on the cars of the same names. In 1958 the off-road Austin Gipsy joined the range, competing with the Land Rover with portal axles and four-wheel drive and built until 1968. In the era of the British Motor Corporation and later British Leyland came the J4 van (1960 to 1974, used among other things as a post-office vehicle and ambulance), the Mini Van and, in the 1980s, the Metro Van and Maestro Van derivatives of the car ranges of the same names.

On used examples of the pre-war and early post-war models, rust on frame and body and the availability of parts through classic-car dealers count, on the Gipsy the condition of the portal axles and seals, on the J4 and Maestro Van engine and gearbox condition and rust on load floors and door sills; parts today run mostly through specialist classic and club dealers.
