From 1979 to 1993 MAN and Volkswagen jointly developed the light-to-medium-duty G90 truck range, marketed by MAN as an 8 to 10-tonner and by Volkswagen as its own VW truck line; the collective page gathers chassis of this joint development that the register could not assign to its own range. In classic MAN type logic, the first number before the dot gives the weight class in tonnes and the second the engine output in hp – 8.150, for instance, an 8-tonner with 150 hp, 10.136 a 10-tonner with 136 hp – F denotes the forward-control cab.

The G90 range was both groups' attempt to share development costs in the growing light-truck market, before MAN went its own way with the L2000 range and Volkswagen with its own van ranges; on the used market these chassis today appear above all as municipal vehicles, tippers and box bodies in regional distribution traffic.
On a used example, rust on the frame and cab mounts, the condition of the clutch and gearbox, on the forward-control cab the tilt mechanism and seals, and the brakes and tyres given the age of many vehicles count; parts through MAN dealers are available to a limited extent, for VW-badged versions barely at all.
